Fabricating replacement end panels for a DMX

I thought it would be fun to make a set of blonde end panels for a DMX to see how they would look. I found a piece of red oak that had already been planed to the correct 1/2 inch thickness. I took it to the table saw and ripped one edge straight.

And then ripped it to the final width.

Then, I cut the pieces to the correct lengths.

A custom jig is used to make the angled cut.

The corners are rounded with a drum sander mounted on the drill press.

The edges are chamfered on the router table.

The pieces are hand-sanded smooth.

Holes are drilled using another special jig.

Two coats of oil stain were applied and rubbed out after a few minutes.

The final product.
